--- ABOUT marinMOMCARE.org

If you provide a non-retail service to mothers post-partum and beyond, we invite you to become member of MarinMOMCARE, a newly gestating association of health care providers in Marin County who specialize in care for women, post-partum and beyond. We have received a grant from First Five Marin Children & Families Commission, to create a website directory of the support available for new mothers in our local community. This is a professional network , and we would like very much for you to be listed on this website. The website will be widely advertised in Marin County. There will be a printed directory as well.

This is an exciting project that evolved out of an informal group of women who met throughout 2004 to discuss our concern for the support needed by new mothers during the immediate post-partum time and beyond. We also began to discover that a wide spectrum of health related services are available to new mothers in Marin County. We hope to encourage women to take advantage of this help and optimize their health. If your work fits into this client group, please join with us to nurture mothers.

Easy access to post-childbirth resources is essential since new mothers do not have extra time to search around for the help they need. MarinMOMCARE.org is a website directory, intended to include all local resources available, with a focus on immediate post-partum women, all mothers, and care for infants and children up to 5 years old. This is our first project. We are hoping that upon its completion, with an expanded network of providers, a professional organization can develop and will continue with exciting new projects enhancing the health of mothers.

Please take advantage of the opportunity this grant has given us to increase your accessibility to mothers, and to increase your network with other professionals. Our goal is to include all: primarily health related and childcare support resources. This is a non-profit, volunteer created project. Our grant will cover establishing the bi-lingual website and printed directory, and the initial advertising. In order to continue updating and advertising marinMOMCARE, we request an annual $20 listing fee.
